ABOUT

WHO We ARE

Noun & Verb Rodeo’s executive producer, Blake Eskin, has been making podcasts for more than 15 years. He has written and presented stories for 99% Invisible, This American Life, and other public radio programs, and received a ShortDocs commission from the Third Coast International Audio Festival. Blake teaches in the Journalism + Design program at The New School.

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME

Organized by dance marathon impresario Milton Crandall, the original Noun & Verb Rodeo began on December 25, 1928, at the 71st Regiment Armory in New York City. For four days, contestants made political speeches, recited poetry, read aloud from a holy book or a pulp magazine, sang songs. All that mattered was that they kept talking.
